Oct. Month post

This month at my mentor ship i had to deal with the aftermath of the flu clinic. That meant organizing all files of the people who got the flu and cleaning the storage room. It was so much work,  especially the cleaning up the storage room. I had to move containers filled with used needles which was not fun because I am deathly afraid of needles.  I know what you are thinking you volunteer at a hospital how are you afraid of needles? Most of the work I do is behind the scenes so I don't have to see it.

                                         Ah the joys of filing.

                                             Ehh the needles!

The finished product! It is as clean as its going to get.

Blog 8: Research and Working EQ

Content:

1.  What is your working EQ?
How manager create an efficient work place?

2.  What is a possible answer to your working EQ? Please write the answer in thesis format.
  1. Provide the staff with a way to communicate issues and or understand the tasks given so that they can effectively accomplish the goals set out by the "company" (yearbook).
  2. Help create a good working environment where everyone feels important and is not afraid to go to people and ask for help.So that the group can feel apart of the process and more willing to do work.
  3.  Provide structure to the work place. Keep deadlines meet and keep the staff working.
3.What is the most important source you have used that has helped you come up with an answer to your working EQ?
My mentors, Joan and Mimi,  have been invaluable when coming up with these answers. Also the book "Five dysfunctions of a team" and "Communication problem solver".
4.  Who is your mentor, or where are you volunteering, and how does what you are doing relate to your working EQ?
My two mentors are Joan Pleta and Mimi Orth. I meet with Joan at Kaiser where she is a department administrator. There I go with her and talk/ listen to issues the department has and basically problem solve. With Mimi she comes in every 2 weeks or so and helps me apply the knowledge I have learned into leading yearbook. She also helps with areas of concern like meeting deadlines.
